The cyber security of the foundational IT infrastructure upon which an organization operates is paramount.

An organization's foundational IT infastructure is primarily comprised of mission-critical Identity and Access services.

At most organizations worldwide, these mission-critical Identity and Access services are delivered by Active Directory, a highly trustworthy, time-tested foundational technology that enables operational autonomy and organizational privacy.

At such organizations, the entirety of an organization's primary identities (user accounts) and credentials (passwords) are stored, managed and secured in Active Directory, and all the mechanisms required to faciliate secure (authenticated, authorized and audited) access are provided by Active Directory .

Further, all organizational computers are joined to, managed from and protected by Active Directory, and access to all organizational IT assets (files, folders, apps, portals, email etc.) is controlled using Active Directory security groups.

In essence, in Windows networks, Identity and the three A's of cyber security, Authentication, Authorization and Auditing are all integrated into an independently operable Active Directory, and this also makes operational autonomy possible.

Active Directory is thus foundational, and its cyber security is absolutely paramount to organizational security.
